I’m reflecting on the iPhone 4S, the unveiling of which I watched on the edge of my seat today. Like a lot of people, I found myself feeling a little underwhelmed – like maybe there was some truth to the talk of the post-Jobs era.
But now I’m realizing that I thought the same thing about the iPad 2, certainly, and even about the original iPad. I was never unimpressed, but I did feel like the results had not met my expectations. And, well, that seems kind of silly to me now.
I think maybe that’s one more reason to treat the feeling of disappointment with a grain of salt. I’ll be getting the 4S, because my 3GS is on its last legs. And I suspect that it’s going to – as Tim and his team were so often saying today – “blow me away.”
